Selanne pushes Ducks past the Blackhawks

Throughout most the year many critics have said doubted the Ducks offense. Most analyst have said the Ducks have a championship quality defense, however their offense would be the reason the Ducks may miss the playoffs. On Sunday, Teemu Selanne kept the critics quite. Selanne erupted for three goals and five points as the Ducks blew by the Chicago Blackhawks 6-3. This was the 20th time in his Hall of Fame career Selanne had scored a hat trick and the first one since January 11, 2007.

"I had some really good chances," Selanne told reporters. "It was good to see those pucks go in. I got some great passes, so that made the job way easier."

Another Duck who was overlooked was Ryan Getzlof. He had three points total, those points consisting of one goal and two assists. However, even though the Ducks came away with their fourth victory in a row, it did come with a hefty price. Future Hall of Famer Chris Pronger took Patrick Sharp’s stick to the jaw. He was announced to have a jaw contusion and is out indefinitely. This could hurt the Ducks stingy defense if he is not able to return. However, with the next game being on Friday against Calgary, it appears Pronger will return in time for the next contest.

Selanne is good. 20 hat tricks is just rediculous. Too bad Pronger got hurt. It doesn't sound serious though, I'm sure he'll be back in no time.
